Ever had a makeup question but did't know who to ask? Well Courtney came to the right person! Check out these great tips offered by Pro Artist Toni Marlo.
Courtney: I haven't worn makeup for a few years now and I'm out of the loop. I don't even know how to paint my face anymore. I have blush, eyebrow stuff, mascara, and a couple eye shadows. So I need face stuff and lipstick.
So I remembered this lipstick Dubonnet by MAC, I have no idea if they still sell it, but it's kind of a dark red. And I'm super fair skinned so I don't know is that a bad choice for pictures? We're going on our first "baby free" vacation soon as well.
Also, I used to just wear powder with a bronzer on top for my face. But the bronzer I used is no longer on the market, so last time I wore my powder I looked like a ghost... I'm super picky about what goes on my face bc I don't like to feel like I have anything on. So any thoughts on the red lips and ghost face would be much appreciated. Xoxox Toni: So good to hear from you!
Okay, here we go: - MAC does still sell Dubonnet and it is a great color for you. It can be a bit heavy depending on the occasion but if you want to soften it you can put it on TOP of a gloss or lip balm. That will make it appear more sheer and soft. - Powder. I tend to like mineralized powders for more of a "satin" or "skin" like finish. My two fave right now are MAC and Lorac. They are pressed and if you have the right color they won't make u ghostly or too matte. I also recommend using a dense buffing brush. My fave right now is a brand call Real Techniques. You can buy Lorac and Real Techniques at Ulta and prob several other places. Bronzer- lots of options here but my personal fave at the moment is the Tarte's 'Park Avenue Princess'. It's waterproof and has a soft shimmer but not too much. Great color of bronze too. If you feel like bronzers are too dark for you feel free to use a regular powder that you happen to like the finish of and just buy a few shades darker. When you are on vacation consider trying a concealer or highlighter pen after you put on your sunscreen. A highlighter pen gives soft luminous coverage and you only put in places you want. And it's a pen shape!! Super easy and great to travel with. It'll change ur life. Several brands have them bc they are all the rage right now. Go to Ulta, Sephora or Dillards and just play around with one that feels and looks the best on you. The reason I suggested on your vacation is only bc you want something that feels light and is easy and fast.. Of course use daily or for your pics lol Courtney: You. Are. So. Sweet! Thank u!!! I was nervous to message u but this was so sweet and thought out! Thank u so much!! Here's to feeling pretty again.
Toni: Oh my gosh of course! Never feel nervous about messaging me! I'm always here. Let me know how it works out or if you have any other questions

Courtney: How'd I do?
Toni: You look amazing!! That lip Courtney: I love the lips!! I want to wear it all day everyday!! So how do u keep it from getting in the cracks around your mouth? I don't ever remember this happening when I was younger?!
Toni: Haha!!! I know right?!? Wear a lip primer Pack powder around your mouth to fill in the cracks Use lip liner or no gloss Lots a little tricks. Just gotta find one that works best for you Courtney: I have never even heard of these things! Thanks a lot!
