Wedding Skin Prep Tips and Products to get you Glowing Down the Aisle

We at MarloHaus want you to be the very best version of yourself on your wedding day! Check out our tips and products to get you Glowing Down the Aisle!

SIX WEEKS (or earlier) before your big day Six weeks before your wedding is the BEST time to add any new products to your routine. Of course the sooner the better. Who doesn't want clear glowing skin all the time! I'm going to keep this part short and you can add in the additional products I've listed below. My skin changed at 30 and not in a good way. Cystic acne, general adult acne and uneven dull scaly skin. But I finally started using retinol. I have somewhat sensitive skin and found that CeraVe Skin Renewing Cream Serum has just the right amount of retinol. I use it every other night. It took about a month to see my 20 something skin back (but even better this time). I also had my 70 y/o mother start using it and her fine lines are vanishing and her skin is significantly more plump and youthful. Oh, also when retinol first came out it was used for acne and adult acne. It's awesome. This was a game changer for me and I'm completely convinced Retinol is magic. Lol TWO WEEKS (14 days) before your big day

It's very important not start a brand new intense skin care or anti-aging routine two weeks before your wedding. It takes at least a month for a lot of these wonderful products to start changing your skin for the better. Many times the first two weeks are the "break in" period and the time you can start tweaking the usage/frequency to fit your skin.

Give your makeup brushes a little TLC - Your skin will thank you

Don't let all the gross bacteria on your brushes or sponges be the culprit of bad skin and breakouts! Shampoo your brushes at least once a week for foundation brushes and every other week for dry (shadow/blush etc) brushes using spray brush cleanser in between every day. MAC Brush Cleanser or any brush cleanser that disinfects and conditions your brushes is great. ProTip! Lay brushes flat with bristles shaped and hanging off counter to dry. If you dry with bristles point up it will eventually oversoak the adhesive ruining your brushes. Lastly sponges should be cleaned daily. Sorry, so much work I know but TOTALLY worth it!
